The recently constructed temperature-controlled distribution Centre in Aylesford serves as a vital logistics hub for the Southeast of England, supporting more efficient storage and timely delivery of groceries and general merchandise to regional grocery stores.

This new facility has enhanced operational capabilities, supported a sustainable future, and made a significant contribution to job creation in the Kent area.

Challenge
ISD Solutions, the UK’s leading contracting specialist in industrial cladding and temperature-controlled environments, was appointed to oversee the complete design, construction, and delivery of a bespoke, state-of-the-art facility spanning 621,000 square feet in Kent.

The development comprises 300,000 square feet of chilled storage, 100,000 square feet of freezer space, and incorporates 90,000 square meters of solar panels, reinforcing a commitment to long-term sustainability in the UK.

Solution
Externally, the roof installation utilised a combination of low-profile A4/316 grade stainless steel fasteners and matching stainless steel plates to secure the flat composite panels to the structural steel frames. On the walls, A2/304 grade stainless steel composite panel fasteners with powder-coated heads were selected to complement the smart black and white finish of the exterior panels.

“It’s been a good project. No issue with the fixings and they arrive on time. Deliveries are quick and if there are any issues with deliveries, you always let us know.”
