We're proud to announce that Fixfast Ltd has had its greenhouse gas emission reduction targets approved by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). Following a full assessment by the SBTi Target Validation Team, both our near-term and net-zero targets have been validated — confirming that our climate commitments are aligned with the latest climate science.

The next step on our sustainability journey

This approval builds directly on our recent EcoVadis Gold achievement and marks one of the most significant steps we've taken as a business to formalise our environmental commitments.

Having our targets validated by the SBTi means our emissions reduction plans aren't just ambitious in principle — they've been independently checked against a rigorous, globally recognised standard. As part of our approved targets, Fixfast Ltd commits to:

  • Reduce scope 1 and scope 2 GHG emissions 42% by 2030 from a 2023 base year

  • Measure and reduce its scope 3 emissions

  • Reach net-zero by 2050, including a 90% reduction in scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions from a 2023 base year

Both our near-term and net-zero targets are aligned to a 1.5°C pathway — the highest level of climate ambition the SBTi validates. Our company and approved targets are now listed publicly on the SBTi Target Dashboard.

What is the SBTi?

The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) is a global climate action organisation that enables businesses to set credible, science-aligned emissions reduction targets. It developed the world's first framework for corporate net-zero target setting, and its standards are widely regarded as the benchmark for climate accountability.

Targets are independently checked and validated by SBTi Services, the SBTi's wholly owned subsidiary. To be approved, a company's targets must meet strict criteria covering scope, ambition and timeframe — and must be consistent with limiting global warming to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels.

Because we qualify as a small or medium-sized enterprise (SME), our targets were approved through the SBTi's streamlined validation route designed specifically for SMEs. It applies the same scientific rigour as the corporate route, tailored to businesses of our size.

What does this mean for me?

For you, our customers, this approval is independent proof that our sustainability commitments are real, measurable and being held to account.

Setting a science-based target is one thing — having it validated by the SBTi is another. It means that when you choose Fixfast, you're partnering with a manufacturer that has put a clear, evidenced plan in place to reduce its emissions and reach net-zero by 2050. For specifiers, contractors and procurement teams who increasingly need to demonstrate the environmental credentials of their supply chain, that's a meaningful assurance.

It also reflects how we think about the products themselves. We design and supply fasteners and components built to last, so they contribute to longer-lasting, safer buildings — and a lower whole-life impact for the structures they hold together.

Looking ahead

This is a milestone, not a finish line. With validated targets now in place, our focus turns to delivering against them — reducing emissions across our operations and value chain, and reporting transparently on our progress year on year.

As climate science and best practice continue to evolve, we'll keep refining our approach to make sure Fixfast remains as good as it can be. We believe it will become increasingly important to our customers to partner with manufacturers who can demonstrate a genuinely sustainable business model — and we're committed to being one of them.
